The Discussion evaluation experience underwent a re-design for assessing a topic for an individual learner, allowing instructors to better review and evaluate discussion contributions.  The evaluation interface for Discussions has a similar layout as the Assignment evaluation experience.  Below are details on the new layout.

New discussion evaluation overview
New Discussion Evaluation Experience Layout
  1. Top Navigation
    • The navigation bar is consistent with the Assignment evaluation.
  2. Learner Context Bar
    • Includes the student profile card component when hovering your mouse over the student picture/name, similar to the Assignment evaluation.
  3. Post View
    • Displays breakdown of posts for the topic as either threads or replies.
    • Replies to another student's thread are clearly indicated, making it easer to differentiate between a student's own post and their responses to others within the Topic.
    • Clicking on the Thread name will open that item a new browser tab for additional review.
    • Allows filtering on only Threads, Replies, or both.
    • Sort options include:
      • Oldest Post First
      • Newest Post First
      • Post Subject
  4. Evaluation Tools
    • Inline Rubric Tool
      • Instead of fully opening across the entire evaluation screen, it now expands down the evaluation panel, allowing the evaluator to see both the rubric and the posts at the same time. No more scrolling up and down to see both the rubric and the post at the same time!
      • If desired the Rubric can still be popped-out into its own window.
        Inline rubric component expanded
    • Overall Grade
      • Can manually enter grade or utilize the automatic grading if using an associated rubric.
    • Overall Feedback
      • Similar experience as before for entering feedback while assessing a topic.
  5. Draggable Divider
    • Now easier to resize your panels to suit individual needs.
    • Resized panels will remain as you iterate through your learner's submissions.
