Grade Progress
Sometimes it can be difficult to determine how a student's current grade is being calculated, or what has contributed to raising or lowering a student's grade. You can use the Grade Progress tool in Class Progress to show how grades are calculated.
How to see a breakdown of all grade items:
- In Class Progress, click a student’s name.
- From the Summary screen, click Grades on the left side menu to access the Grades Progress.
- Scroll down to see a breakdown list of all graded items.
To see how the final grade is calculated:
- In Class Progress, click a student’s name.
- From the Summary screen, click Grades on the left side menu to access the Grades Progress.
- Under Final Grade, click the calculator icon to see how the current final grade is being calculated.
- "Current Grade" shows what the student's current final grade is for the class, this is based on calculation options in the gradebook.
- "Maximum Final" shows the maximum grade the student can earn for the class, based on the current items in the gradebook if they earn a 100% on every outstanding assignment.
- "Minimum Final" shows the minimum grade a student can earn for the class, based on the current items in the gradebook if they earn a 0% on every outstanding assignment.
- "Current Grade" shows what the student's current final grade is for the class, this is based on calculation options in the gradebook.
- You will see the Final Grade Calculation Formula popup, showing how all grade items contribute to the current final grade.
- Click Close when finished.
TIP: Changes to the grade calculation options can be changed under Assessment > Grades by going to the Setup Wizard or "Settings" and "Calculation Options".
