LockDown Browser is compatible with Windows-based machines and Macs. If instructors choose to enable the option, it will also work on iPads.

There is not an app for Android devices.

LockDown Browser can be used on Chromebooks.

Below are the instructions for students to use a Chromebook for a LockDown Browser exam:

  • Log into the Chromebook and start the Chrome browser
  • Log into D2L and navigate to the exam that requires LockDown Browser
  • Select the link for downloading and installing LockDown Browser
  • From the Chrome web store, select “Add to Chrome” to install the LockDown Browser Extension

NOTE: Pop-ups must be enabled in Chrome or you will get stuck at the Start Quiz page. Go to Lockdown Browser isn't working on my Chromebook for instructions on enabling pop-ups.
