The best way to access a Zoom class meeting is by using the app installed on your device.

If you don't have one installed, you may be able to access the Zoom web client. We do not recommend using this web client unless absolutely necessary. It is not as full-featured as the other applications. It also may require you to enter a CAPTCHA to access the meeting, which can be problematic!

Here is a comparison of the different ways to join Zoom meetings and what each one allows participants to do: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360027397692-Desktop-client-mobile-app-and-web-client-comparison

#1 Recommended Way to Join Zoom Meetings is to use the Meetings Client for your OS

To download the meetings client go to https://bloomu.zoom.us/download#client_4meeting

Once you download the client, you can sign in with SSO:

  1. Click "Sign in with SSO".
  2. Make sure bloomu is the domain.
  3. Enter your Bloomsburg credentials. This will sign you into your Zoom Meetings Client. Then when you click on any Zoom link on your system, it will open in this program automatically because you are already signed in.

The #2 Recommended Way to Join Zoom Meetings is to use the App for your Device

To download the iOS app, go to https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id546505307

To download the Android app, go to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.zoom.videomeetings

Once you download either app, you can sign in with SSO:

  1. On the sign in screen, tap SSO.
  2. Type bloomu for the domain.
  3. Tap Continue.
  4. Enter your Bloomsburg credentials to sign in to the app. When you click on any Zoom link on your device, it will open in this program automatically because you are already signed in.

If you must use the web client, make sure you are opening it in a new tab or window. If your meeting is trying to open in BOLT, you need to open it outside of the BOLT frame. When you click this link on a Windows/Mac, hold down CTRL or CMD when clicking on the link. If you're on a mobile device, long press the link to bring up the option to open in a new tab.

Troubleshooting

If you are trying to use the Sign in with SSO options and are experiencing issues:

Do you have a regular zoom.us account? Did you use your Huskies or Bloomsburg email to sign up for an account at zoom.us instead of bloomu.zoom.us? If so, we recommend going to http://bloomu.zoom.us and signing in. Once you do, you should receive an email asking if you want to move your account over to ours. We recommend you do this. Follow the directions in the email you received.

Here is an article that may help you: I can't use my Zoom account to access Bloomsburg University class meetings. Why not? What can I do?

If you do this and still encounter difficulty using Sign in with SSO please reach out to zoomadmin@bloomu.edu for assistance.

If you're an external participant, you want to sign in using the usual method you sign in to Zoom. See: Who uses what to sign in to Zoom meetings? Why can't I sign in to a Zoom meeting requiring authentication?
